Hey Product Hunters! My friend @artem_sakhatskiy and I made our first app called Soft Skills Cloud. Here is the problem we had had, and the solution that we came up with:
🥲 Problem
The problem is that at our workplaces we were receiving negative feedback about the way we were writing texts: business emails, pull requests, comments in task trackers, etc. Sometimes they were too direct and blunt, sometimes - too vague and hard to understand. With the switch to remote working, and having text as the primary way of communication - we lost the ability to compensate for our lack of written skills with in-person charm. And after some time we started to receive negative feedback about it - a danger for potential promotion.
⚒ Solution
During the typical kitchen discussion, @artem_sakhatskiy mentioned that he started to use ChatGPT to help him improve his writing skills. He would ask it to help him with text. And here came an idea - why not try making it better than just using a ChatGPT.
In the heart of the solution still lies a set GPT of prompt. The service analyzes the texts and highlights potential issues in them. Our intent is not to just fix the issues, but to offer an explanation of them - to give opportunity to improve their own skills.
To track the progress of our own skills, we offer some metrics for text. They are still a bit clumsy, but we are working on them. Turned out to be a suprisingly complex topic!
❓How accurate it is
From personal experience - it does offer a lot of useful insights, and I use it in my job. I often found out after checking out offered corrections, that my own phrasing was lacking, or clumsy. But for now, it is a little bit “too chatty”: going through a second revision of a text, I tend to skip some of the highlights.

The best tool for business communication. It helped me improve some of my writing! It perfectly notices weak points and suggests how best to change them. Easy and useful. Keep it up! 👍

I liked the way you approached feedback. Some tools help me with improving my writing, including Grammarly, but I found your approach to feedback more educational and insightful.
The scale from -100 to 100 might seem odd at first (compared to consumer tools keeping it to 0 to 100), but it makes a lot of sense.
I am missing a few smaller convenience features, such as copying the improved text or shortcuts, but those are just details.

Soft Skills Cloud is such a neat idea! In this age of remote work, written communication is paramount. It's cool how you're using GPT to not just correct but to explain the issues.
