Lottielab is praised for its user-friendly interface and ease of use, making it accessible for both beginners and professionals in animation. Users appreciate its ability to import and animate files like SVGs and Figma documents, streamlining the animation process. However, some users report bugs and data loss issues, cautioning against its use for professional projects. Despite these concerns, many find it a valuable tool for creating high-quality animations quickly, with hopes for more features and stability improvements in the future.
Lottielab (Magic Animator - now live)
Hey Product Hunt community! 👋
I’m Drew, designer and co-founder at Lottielab, and I’m excited (maybe also slightly sleep-deprived 😅) to share Magic Animator with you.
It’s the first AI tool that generates editable animations directly from your Figma files.
🚫 Why most tools fall short:
As a designer, I’ve always been drawn to motion.
It’s how we experience life. From stars to engines, from catapults to cinema, we’ve always made sense of the world by how things move. When something moves, it feels alive. 🌀
So why does motion still feel like such a pain in modern design tools?
If you've ever exported your Figma design into After Effects just to animate a button, or lost hours repetitively polishing easing curves for simple movements no one notices… I’ve been there.
Motion is creatively rewarding, and its impact on engagement is undeniable — but the workflow is often manual, repetitive, and slow. 🐌
Especially when you're designing across formats: ads, websites, onboarding, social, etc.
We built Magic Animator to change that.
And yes, there are “AI” tools now. But most of them stop at a blackbox video.
You type a prompt, get static output, and that’s it. You can’t edit it. You can’t build on it. You can’t trust it in real workflows.
We wanted something different.
Magic Animator is the first AI tool that generates actual editable animations — keyframes, layers, styles, motion curves, all using your real Figma designs.
Not just videos, but real motion design you can refine, extend, and ship across multiple use cases.
What it does:
⚡ Figma designs to AI-generated motion in 1 click — no prompts needed. The tool understands structure, hierarchy, and layout.
📦 Export to MP4 (up to 4K), GIF, Lottie and more — wherever your motion needs to go.
🛠️ Edit any generated animation in a full-featured motion editor — tweak layers, keyframes, timing, curves… or just use it as-is.
Why we built it:
As designers ourselves, we know how hard it is to go from idea to execution. Even small animations eat time.
We wanted a tool that lets beginners move fast and gives experts a head start.
🎯 Creative Momentum – Skip the blank canvas. Get 4 auto-generated animation ideas per design.
🔮 Creative Serendipity – Discover directions you didn’t plan, no prompts needed. Want more? Generate more.
⏱️ Creative Efficiency – What used to take 6 hours now takes 30 mins. Let AI handle the grunt work so you can focus on polish and intent.
We’re still in beta and there are some rough edges, but early teams at places like Netflix, Google, and Omnicom are already seeing big improvements to their UI, ad, and content workflows.
We ship weekly, and we’re learning fast from every team that uses it. 📬
If you make things move, we’d love your feedback, bugs, requests, wishlists, curveballs, all welcome. 🤘
Thanks for checking it out, excited to hear what you think!
