The internet isn't one size fits all, your mobile browser shouldn't be either. With Insight, create extensions easily and quickly on your phone, and we suggest the most useful ones as you browse. Search only sources you trust; block ads, trackers and junk.
👋🏽 Hi hunters, and thank you @mwseibel for hunting!
While the internet is used totally differently by different people, we're all using vanilla Safari (or similar) on our iPhones. Unlike desktop, there's almost no extensibility and customizability on iOS browsers.
So we built Insight. It has easy to build, if-then style no-code extensions that you can build entirely on your phone, but also more powerful JS based extensions. Extensions are automatically suggested as you search and browse, so you don't have to put in hours to figure out what you need to get the most out of the web.
Some of my favorite extensions so far (most of these are automatically suggested as you browse, and we keep showcasing new ones on our Twitter - https://twitter.com/insightbrowser)
1. Invert colors phone is on dark mode
2. Swipe through Google results
3. Trusted product reviews when searching Amazon
4. Search for recipes on my favorite sites only
5. Eye guiding color gradient in reader mode (shoutout to Beeline Reader!)
Btw, If you have a product or an idea you'd like to see as an Insight extension / reach out to us at hi@insightbrowser.com, we'd love to build with you!
Moreover, because its 2021 and your privacy and great ad blocking is a no brainer, Insight ships with powerful ad and tracker blocking out of the box. We go a step further and also block ads masquerading as content on YouTube, Google, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Super excited to share this with this community. Insight is the product of several rounds' of iteration, a big pivot and many patient beta testers (if that's you, you have my undying gratitude).
Please take it for a whirl and let us know what you think — either here, on Twitter or directly at abhinav@insightbrowser.com. Or better yet, join our Slack community (https://insightbrowser.com/commu...) and swap extension ideas, find tips or to just share feedback or bug reports easily.
Happy browsing,
Abhinav
PS: We know some of the featured and auto suggested extensions are US centric. We are a small but scrappy team and we hope to support a seamless international experience soon. Till then, it is very easy to make or edit your own extensions (https://www.notion.so/Guide-Crea...) If something about Insight doesn't work for you, please send us feedback, or even better, join us.(https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/insight...)
I've been using the Insight Browser during the beta, and I love it. I first heard about Insight in a Hacker News thread last year, and it's now my go-to browser for news reading. I love how it auto-loads the reading mode tab anytime a news article is loaded, and that you can get to it with just a swipe.
I've been beta testing the BeeLine Reader extension for them (I'm the creator), and I love how easy it is to use. It's also cool to be able to easily access multiple search engines on the fly, and to use the shopping and cooking extensions.
Insight is definitely my favorite new browser—and I'm sure it'll get even better as there are more extensions available. Highly, highly, recommend!
I can't believe extensions don't exist on mobile...that is until now with Insight. I've been using the beta for a bit now and have switched to using Insight as my default browser!
