Hey Product Hunt! 👋 Isala, Visal, and Akassh here, the makers of Enki - Sticky notes for the internet age. As heavy bookmarkers ourselves (think recipes for the cooking enthusiast, dev tips for the code, and hidden cafe gems!), we were constantly frustrated by the black hole of "saved" content on social media. Sound familiar? 🤦♂️
You save something cool, but then... where did it go? No decent search, endless scrolling... we were wasting 5-20 minutes daily just trying to find stuff! 🤯
That's why we built Enki. Think of it as your central, intelligent bookmark hub. Share any link, and Enki not only saves it lightning-fast, but our AI-powered chat helps you recall it instantly. No more digital hide-and-seek! 🕵️♀️
Here’s what makes Enki different:
- Lightning-fast saving: Share from anywhere with our extension and get back to your scroll. ⚡
- Intelligent organization (without the effort): We handle the categorization, you just save. 🧠
- Your personal bookmark guru: Ask our AI chat anything, like "Create a Japan itinerary," and it’ll use your saved content, like travel tips from TikTok, to craft a personalized plan. 💬
- Swipe to save: Quickly jot down text-based notes on the go. ✍️
This isn't just another bookmarking app; it's about reclaiming your time and your saved content. We're a small team of developers, a cooking enthusiast, and a Pokémon master (among other things!) who were tired of this problem. We built Enki because we needed it ourselves. 💪
We’d love to hear what you think! What are your biggest frustrations with saving online content? Let us know in the comments! 👇
Special Offer for Product Hunt: Thanks for checking us out! All Product Hunt users get free access to the Chat Page for the first few months. Try out our AI and share your thoughts! ✨
Thanks for your support! 🙏 - Isala, Visal, & Akassh
No matter how many different ways people come up with to save notes, sticky notes remain one of the easiest and most straightforward methods for taking notes on the go. Good luck with the launch!
@michael_vavilov Couldn't agree more — sticky notes are the OGs for quick captures! We just happened to give them a jetpack (and a PhD to find your stuff)!
Really neat idea 💡 I've wanted something like this for a while!
I was able to install Enki on my iphone and got it working overall, but have a few questions and feature requests:
1. In the docs it says "saving in a swipe", but I wasn't sure how to do that. Do you have more details or a demo?
2. The youtube video demo doesn't seem to have any audio
3. I was able to save via the "Share" button in certain apps, where Enki showed up under "More ..", but not on the list of initial icons. Is there a way to pin it?
4. With Apple News content, I didn't see Enki listed as an option to share to, is that not supported yet or am I doing something wrong?
5. When I searched for via the chat, I was able to get a response and found a matching saved snippet, but the matching snippet just showed "Item 1". It would be nice if it showed the title or url of the website I'd saved.
6. Feature request: it would be great to have a chrome bookmarklet that would save to Enki, similar to how Pocket works
PS: Did you use Rust for the backend or for the app itself as well? (like the Tauri mobile framework). Do you have any more details?
Hi @tleyden!
First off, thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback! Let me address some of your points directly:
1. The “swipe of save” feature is on the “Create” page of our app. You can add your own content in the form of links/text. It’s a simple swipe there to get your note saved.
2. Noted, we will address that.
3. Yes, you can! Click on “More” with three dots, select “Edit”, and add Enki to your Favourites.
4. We are aware of this issue. As of now, there seems to be an issue with the default Apple apps (App Store, Apple News) and our share extension. Our iOS Wizard is working on this as we speak!
5. We have noted this and are working on improving your user experience.
6. An extension & a web version are surely in our roadmap. At the moment, we are just focusing on polishing our app.
We are using Rust just for the backend, and we are planning to use Dioxus (Rust framework) for the Android/Web and Desktop Apps.
@akassharjun Sounds like you will be iterating quickly, exciting! For 4 and 6, any chance you could tag me in a comment when you have a new version ready to try? (especially 6)
@tleyden Thank you so much for your enthusiasm. I’d be happy to keep you in the loop. Also do note that we’ll be sharing all the latest updates, sneak peeks, and announcements on our Instagram and Twitter pages. Make sure to follow us there so you don’t miss a thing!
