Elqi is an app that through conscious interventions lowers social media addiction, cutting down doom scrolling and limiting screen time. Dopamine-driven phone sessions are cut short as Elqi turns technology back into a tool - not an escape.
Hey Product Hunt Family ✌️,
After 6 months of stealth mode hard coding, we are happy to launch the Elqi App that will help you to win back valuable screen time. After catching myself doom scrolling and loosing self control over my phone I decided to build a solution to win back my own mind.
With Elqi me and all tester have reported immense improvement in their Screen Time. As a lot of apps nowadays have been designed to make you release as much dopamine as possible it was important to me to build a tool against this mechanism.
Elqi gives you the control over your phone back, which a lot of us have been missing. How do we do that?
👉 we intervene before doom scrolling
👉 conscious exercise prior to addictive app use
👉 enforce reflective phone behaviour
Start saving valuable life time now!
I hope Elqi brings you as much joy and peace as I intended it to. Let us know of any feedback you would like to share.
Mert ✌️
This sounds like a game-changer for those struggling with phone addiction! How does Elqi differentiate itself from other apps targeting the same issue?
@dmytrosem Hey Dmytro, so we utilize science-backed conscious interventions that trigger the brain to be less dopamine driven. A lot of other apps are very limited in how they stop users from opening addictive apps. We will add a lot of further mental exercises that will all be backed by the latest findings from psychology studies. Breathing interventions are only the beginning.
@dmytrosem@mert_elqi that was a lot of buzzwords and 0 substance. This app uses the same ScreenTime API as any other app of this kind. There is nothing science-backed.
Hey Mert, congrats!
One thing is not clear to me:
> 👉 we intervene before doom scrolling
How? Is this app going to pop when I try to open the Facebook app for example?
It would be nice to put a video or animation on the website and app store pictures about the flow from when I try to open a distracting app until this app shows up
@pppdns Hey Denes, that is exactly what we do. Currently working on our second version dropping end of March which will have even further functions to build on that. And the video is good advice! Unfortunately can not put it on the AppStore due to regulations (cant show other apps) but definitely worth considering vor our website. Thank!
