Here’s the scenario we wanted to solve for: Your product team uncovered that application engagement needs to be much much higher. They spec out a notification center inbox for your app, complete with integrated push notifications. The PRD spares no expense, pulling from the very best web and mobile examples out there. They want it to handle everything— product announcements, alerts when usage thresholds are exceeded, billing notifications, growth marketing-related messages when users hit lifecycle events. Everything. So…dilemma time. Does the entire engineering team stop what they’re doing for 6 months to make this happen? Do you spend endless meetings scoping it down until it’s a shell of its original spec, let alone competitive? That’s where we come in. With Courier’s notification platform, developers get access to a complete best-in-class inbox that can drop right into your web and mobile apps. We wanted to offer flexible building blocks that make creating the exact notification system and experience much simpler through pre-built UI components and a powerful notifications API. Now, this notification center project goes from 6+ months to 6 lines of code. With our Inbox SDKs for web, Android, and iOS, integrating a top-notch notification center becomes a breeze. You can reach your users and bring them back into your app like never before. To highlight a few of the features…. First off, Inbox is just one way to reach your users with Courier. A notification to the inbox can also hit email, Slack, SMS, Whatsapp—any channel; with loads of possibilities to automate the logic and delivery sequencing in just the right way. Next, there are multiple ways to trigger these notifications. It can be via API or an event from your customer data platform like Segment or even a manual one-time send from our web UI. The inbox also includes mobile push and web pop-up "toast" notifications so you can bring users back to your app even when it’s not open. And don't worry about spamming users; we support advanced send logic like throttling, batching, and even digesting of notifications based on user preferences.
