One of the greatest tragedies of existence is that our birthplace in space-time can determine our beliefs.
The internet promised to free us from this tyranny over our minds. It promised access to the world's greatest thinkers regardless of where we live or the cultural forces trying to constrain our thinking. I experienced firsthand the power of the internet. It freed me from the limited perspective I was surrounded by. I want to bring this experience to more people. To enable more of us to free ourselves from the noisy, distraction-filled ecosystems of social and mainstream media.
At Cicero, we reject our politicians' and tech leaders' elitist notion that your average joe is an idiot. That we are to be easily manipulated and addicted to junk content. Instead, we believe that humans want to learn, engage, and grow. And we believe that with the right platform we can bring that reality to more people. This is our attempt. And I hope we can make it better together.
