Someone might have asked this before, but couldn't immediately find a similar question or info about it on the website. My question is: How do you calculate the calm score? What's the metrics?
@sentry_co Yes it's the number 1 question actually. Hehe.
These are the data points used:
• Flexible Working Hours
• Remote Work Options
• Vacation Policy
• Company Culture
• Workload Expectations
Far from perfect so I need to improve it. Would love to hear your suggestions!
@john200ok Yes. It's a good start. these metrics are moving targets tho.Also sometimes gamed a little by HR. I think maybe also consider looking at evidence, not just the marketing. What I look at when determining if a company has a good culture is: glass door reviews, LinkedIn churn rates, how active are employees in open source / blogging / side-projects. CEO's / CTO's / team-leads etc attitude / opinions on twitter / linkedin etc. Do they have 20% time for working on your own stuff. Do companies have dark patterns, like constant pressure to release, or is it more quality over quantity. Are employees tracked, measured, etc. which leads to cobra effects etc. lots of stuff. But thats what I can come up with now 😸 and some of these metrics are more important than others
@sentry_co Wow! That's a lot of valuable feedback! Makes sense and great points! Thank you so much André.
I'll figure out a way how to gather and analyze those data.
Congrats on the launch! This is really interesting, most job boards do not focus on employee wellbeing front and center, I really like the concept of putting employee's wellbeing first.
@ler_ws Thank you Wilson!
If you have any suggestions on how can Calm Jobs provide more value to job seekers who are interested in work-life balance, I would love to hear it.
In theory, this is very cool!
As someone looking for job, I would be wondering how do you determine which companies have a better work-life balance? And often times for larger companies, depending on the location (branch) or even department, things can be vastly different. Do you take that into consideration?
@naomigarcia Hello Naomi!
Currently it considers the following:
• Flexible Working Hours
• Remote Work Options
• Vacation Policy
• Company Culture
• Workload Expectations
Also planning to consider asynchronous communication, frequency of meetings, etc...
Do you have any suggestions on what other factors should be considered?
Especially for calculating a work-life balance score.
