Hi Product Hunt! My coworkers and I worked with hundreds of YC founders to put together the 2021 YC Top Companies List. For background, in 2018, we published the first YC Top Companies List. We put the initial list together to help potential employees, partners, and late stage investors get to know a wider set of YC companies — not just the top five. Today, we have the same motivation: highlight movements within the YC community and raise awareness of a broader set of companies. The list is sorted by valuation as of January 2021. That said, we've always said that valuation is a poor way to measure a company’s value in the short term, and we still believe this to be the case. However, it’s the most commonly available metric to compare companies in the startup world. (Other metrics, like revenue, are more often kept private.) We'd love to hear what you think!
