Other boards find 1-2 new postings a day. Theo finds ~20 by manually checking social media, job boards, ATSes, and more (4hrs of work daily). 10 postings daily for free, $5.95/mth for all (50% off if you were laid off from COVID)
Hi! Six months ago my startup failed and I was looking for a remote product design job. Because I was a design hiring manager for the last few years, I knew all the best places to look for new jobs (basically, everywhere I went to post as a hiring manager). It was exhausting checking every source every day, and so I started Theo (my dog's name) to make it easy for other designers to find postings.
Between my wife and I we now spend about 4 hours a day looking for jobs over job boards, social media feeds, ATSes, and more. But because of that, we find more new postings every day than any other source anywhere (guaranteed, or your money back).
Some FAQS:
Why do you charge job seekers and not companies?
Good question. Other job boards/services get paid by companies who post. That sucks for the job seekers, as every board will then have different jobs posted (no company will pay all job boards to feature their job). We don’t get paid by companies - so our only objective is to find you all the best jobs.
Why are you charging people laid off from COVID-19 at all?
I really, really wanted to make it free. I did actually, and posted it to reddit two months ago. I had so many people sign up it brought down the site and upped my software subs to the point where I was deep in the red. I’m still in the red, and unfortunately if I keep offering it for free it just won’t make much sense to keep it running much longer considering how much work it is.
If you were laid off, sign up for a free trial for the plan of your choice, reach out to me, and I’ll apply a 50% off coupon over stripe for the first 3 months.
Where are you finding these jobs?
If you Google ‘ux/graphic/web/product design remote jobs’ and then check the first few pages worth of job boards every day. Couple that with checking LinkedIn, Twitter, et al. every day. Couple that with typing “site:workable.com” into Google to search all ATSes out there for new jobs, and you pretty much have the full list I comb through daily. I’m just banking on the fact that people would pay $5.95 a month for someone else to do it for them.
Why is it infinite scroll?
I hate infinite scroll. I just also still have a full-time job so I haven’t had the time to build pagination.
Why is Theo such a good boi?
Cus I gave him a peanut butter toast this morning.
Theo is easily the most comprehensive and focused site to find new and relevant postings. A HUGE timesaver. Now I have more time to enhance my portfolio. Thanks, Theo!
Great job board consistently updated every day with tons of promising offers. Thanks Chris for providing this resource, it's my go-to remote job board as a designer.
I found Theo really useful during a pretty dismal job search and only stopped my subsection as I was offered a job that I’d applied for pre Covid. I’m now starting to get responses from a few places I’d applied for through the site which is making me reconsider my next step.
From the moment I tried Theo, I felt it opened up a world of remote jobs to me that I could never easily find on my own. It's simple, intuitive, and delivers. It's definitely a huge timesaver, and the cost is nominal for someone who is on a job hunt.
