Keepster is a product that truly is an example of ‘good’ tech in that it values privacy, intimacy, authenticity and human connection. Though simple and easy to use Keepster provides a unique solution to extracting what is meaningful from our increasingly overwhelming digital communications.

This is how I came to create Keepster. It was Valentine’s Day. My guy is a wonderful writer and I was inspired to create a book out of our thousands of texts. I assumed there'd be a simple solution to make the gift, but I was wrong. The technology wasn’t really there, the options were limited, so I handmade the book myself: by printing out our texts and gluing them by hand! He loved the book and I felt compelled to find a better solution. Shortly after, a very dear friend passed away and I suddenly realized how precious our texts were. That is where we said ‘our stuff’, shared our truths, laughed at things only she and I would understand...a whole other level of intimate and personal communication, (vastly different from what I’d post on social media). Strangely, I began to hear lots of stories of others who had lost loved ones, and were hanging on to their old phones so as not to lose their precious messages. It began to dawn on me that of the billions of texts that are sent daily, many can be really meaningful, no matter whether they are about major moments, or just the silliest little day to day little things. Messaging is that safe space where we can remain connected to the people who really matter to us. So, as we continue to live fully digital lives, I feel that the need to appreciate and recognize the ‘gold’ in all our fragmented and ephemeral communications is stronger than ever: whether to, preserve them as printed books to celebrate special relationships or occasions, or at the very least have the peace of mind that the messages that matter are always easily accessible as easily searchable backups.

Such a unique way to preserve memories that otherwise would just be lost in the black hole of text stream. Beautiful, simple design and quick shipping.
