When do you first check your social media in the day?

For me, I start my social media as soon as I wake up. Sometimes, I check it before going to bed. I try to stay active on social media, but sometimes this habit can be exhausting. Then, I feel the need to take a digital break. Do you also have the habit of constantly checking social media?

Yep, it's designed to make us check constantly. I shift all my addictive apps to the far corners of my home screen so they're not glaring at me every time I unlock my phone :)

I try to ban social media more and more before work and in the evenings too. We spend too many hours before screens. I try to put the flight mode on as early as possible and start the first hour of the day with flight mode.

@marvin_maendle This is what I'm trying to do too. But if you're on flight mode, what do you do in the first hour? And how do you resist the urge/stress not to unflight mode your phone

@xavier_jj First of all I drink water. Then I go for a walk or drink a coffee at my terrace (depends on the weather). Breakfast, bit housekeeping and bathroom. Then I switch off the flight mode. Sometimes it triggers me but in the end I see the advantages for mental health and my own thoughts instead of trash reels. I enjoy the silence.
My instinct is to check first thing in the morning. But some days when I have a lot of coding work I try and push it to noon or evening :)

It's a great way to stay connected and entertained, but it is also importance to recognize the balance between screen time and other activities.
