I get around with Grammarly free version. Although recently it promotes more aggressively and also wants me to sound more friendly and
inclusive, without me asking it do that.
Hello @mary_rumyantzeva
I have Grammarly Grammarly . I started using it from the beginning, I think in 2015 or so, and since then I am still using it. Happy so far.
And you?
Here’s a rundown of the top 2 websites to check for grammar, from my experience:
Grammarly: This is like the Swiss Army knife of writing tools. It checks for grammar mistakes, spelling errors, and even suggests style improvements. What I love about Grammarly is its user-friendly interface and how it explains why something might be wrong, which is great for learning
Hemingway App: This one is all about making your writing clear and easy to read. It highlights complex sentences and suggests simpler alternatives. It's fantastic for making sure your messages are clear, especially if you're writing for the web. The color-coded feedback is pretty neat for visual learners.
ChatGPT and Grammarly.
The problem I see with ChatGPT is that sometimes, it takes time to explain that I want just a grammar check. Usually, it starts to rewrite the whole text in its own way.
And Grammarly, I've never tried their paid version, so I'm not able to see those premium suggestions. But in general, it works really well.
Personally, I use LanguageTool.
I can control my data with self-hosted version. Also, both the terms of service and privacy policy are fine.
The only drawback is you can’t use mobile app with self-hosted solution.
It was surprising to me to learn that many people use ChatGPT to accomplish this task. It is strange, because it is very inconvenient and difficult to control how exactly to correct the text.
ps. I don’t like Grammarly for T&C and Privacy.
As a tech enthusiast with a diverse background in various industries, I understand the importance of efficient grammar-checking tools across different platforms. It's essential to find a tool that seamlessly integrates with tabs, emails, and social media for a smoother proofreading experience. Looking forward to exploring the different platform recommendations shared here!
