What are your most effective strategies to reduce notification overload and stay focused?
We all know that staying productive (and sane) whilst prioritizing between a ton of notifications from different stakeholders in different tools all day long can be hard... 🤯 I'd love to hear what currently is and isn't working for you in terms of coping with this overload!

Spoke does wonders for me, especially when I am back from 🧘♀️ (focussed) work time and need to prioritise upcoming tasks - it helps me run through them and finish them in an organised manner. And like @grainne_mcknight mentioned no-meeting days on Thursdays are my fav 🙌
This is a good question. Well, I don't know if it's effective to everyone but here's my startegies:
- Turn off notifications for all but the most important apps. This may seem drastic, but it's one of the best ways to reduce distractions.
- Schedule specific times to check your notifications.
- Use a focus mode on your phone or computer.
- Take breaks throughout the day to check your notifications.
- Put your phone away when you're working or trying to focus. This may be difficult, but it's important to avoid distractions in order to get things done.

As an iOS user, I made myself a work mode for my phone, that has only necessary notifications that I need throughout the work time. I think nowadays it is the only way to reduce the amount of disturbing notifications without unsubscribing and unfollowing all my chats and channels.
Organize your notifications into categories, prioritize them, and set specific time blocks for checking and responding, allowing for focused work periods. And check Spoke AI 😉
Separation is really the only way. Phone notifications are probably the most distracting so if you need a few hours of laser focus, move the phone away from your workstation.
Close Gmail or Outlook and WhatsApp or Telegram and Slack...
Maybe put on a good playlist and get things done.
