Focus on creating valuable content, guest posting on reputable sites, leveraging social media, engaging in industry forums, building relationships with influencers, and ensuring your site has a strong technical foundation.
I am not sure if there are any best practices. But if you find them, let me know.
Meanwhile this is what I do:
1. find places where your customers hang out
2. start meaningful conversations (like this)
3. If the opportunity arises, and only then, drop the link in our conversation.

@duffdevone no. User generated content works at the top of the funnel - the awareness and interest stages. Once in a while, we post product related videos.
@mogthesify okay that makes sense, thank you. I understand the benefit of UGC links in terms of building awareness and potentially driving traffic directly. I was under the impression that if you're just focusing on SEO, those links were not as valuable in influencing a site's presence in the actual SERPs because they were no-follow and therefore not receiving link equity from the referrer.
@duffdevone our difficulty is that Gen Z is less and less using search engines, but rather search on YT, TT, etc. We therefore decided to optimise rankings there.
@duffdevone as an example: one of our previous products was covered by UGC and it generated more and better converting traffic than any ad we ever made.
I’m still experimenting with link-building strategies, but I’ve noticed that participating in industry forums and communities can drive some good backlinks.
One thing I’ve learned is that having a clear, engaging content strategy really helps attract high-quality backlinks naturally. Make content that people want to share!
To boost SEO with high-quality backlinks:
1. Join Relevant Communities: Engage in forums and discussions, sharing your content when it fits.
2. Guest Post: Write valuable articles for reputable blogs in your niche.
3. Create Shareable Content: Develop engaging content like infographics that others want to link to.
4. Use Broken Link Building: Replace broken links on other sites with your content.
5. Analyze Competitors: Check competitors’ backlinks to find new opportunities.
In my SEO agency, these strategies are key for enhancing online presence and improving search rankings.
