Team office, remote or hybrid?

44
I like the hybrid model but work most of the time remotely. What's your choice?

I've chosen office first as I'm mostly working from the office, but hybrid is definitely the best approach.
Marvin Mändle
@dan_burns when my office would be near to my house I would definitely go more often. I also think hybrid is the future!

@dan_burns @marvin_maendle I wish we had an office space first. However, since our team operates fully remotely, we're able to maintain an efficient budget. We're launching "Cascad3 - A decentralized inspiration-driven publishing platform" on Product Hunt soon. I would appreciate your support and feedback by clicking the "Notify Me" button to stay tuned and be the first to know when Cascad3 debuts on the stage.👇 producthunt.com/products/cascad3 Thank you! I love office first. As long as the office is in my apartment 😏
Marvin Mändle
@sentry_co haha like that. Actually I would go to the office more often, when it's not more than 15 minutes away from my apartment.

Choosing between team office, remote, or hybrid models really hinges on the nature of your team's work and their preferences. A hybrid approach often strikes a balance, offering flexibility while maintaining some level of in-person collaboration.

Hybrid is everything. Sometimes it's hard to concentrate when you're in a crowded office :(
Marvin Mändle
@vlada_d it is! I remember my time when I was in the office with 25 people. It's so much noice, don't like that at all. Now our office is about 4 people and that is totally fine for me. How many people are in your office?
Vlada D
@marvin_maendle currently about 15 people in the office :( some of them are sales managers, and sometimes it's toooo noisy in there

Hybrid, office first. I can work from home, but only if there are some technical issues at the office (power outage, etc.)
Ivo Ivanovski
Mainly office, but with an option to work from home without special explanations or procedures :) Office is an advantage with newly built teams, startups etc.
Marvin Mändle
@ivo_ivanovski yes, everybody should have the option. Office can be an advantage if everybody is located around the office, yes.

Remote better for business

I prefer remote work, I am not distracted by everyday things.

I love being remote, but it's not for everyone. You really have to manage your space and be mindful of distractions. And nothing compares to meeting your favorite coworkers in person for the first time at offsites!
Marvin Mändle
@leslie_stinson totally agree with you. Meeting the colleagues once in a while is essential and working remotely needs self discipline

i'd say office first

Hybrid, but office first! :)

Launching soon!
I'm with you on the hybrid model, especially if it's remote-first. The key for me is how well the company sets up its structure, workflows, and maintains transparency at all levels. If these elements are dialed in, hybrid working can be incredibly effective. Plus, face-to-face meetups are essential now and then, but they don’t always have to be in a traditional office setting. It’s about finding what works best for the team's connection and productivity.
Marvin Mändle
@jonwhitby on point! We need a new mindset. Companies always say they are modern, but don't work on their work models. New models don't work with old structures!
Giacomo Bretel-De Simone
Very hard to build something ambitious while being fully remote imo. Social setting and in person teamwork plays a huge role in drive & motivation
Marvin Mändle
@french_ninja the office energy is an argument for me, but do you really need it every day or is it enough once or twice a week. I'm more productive in my home office and could definitely built something fully remote. I think it depends on the person and team.
