I think corporations will have to switch from maximizing value for shareholders, to maximizing value for society. Recently there have been a lot of projects that don't benefit ordinary people, and just pump numbers up, often not being sustainable in the long term. There are inflated private companies, who are poaching on lack of regulations and are subsidized by public money while their owners are lobbying for further deregulation and despise social policies. Not mentioning price gouging.
To change that, most probably, monopolies have to be curbed, and regulations have to be issued and enforced. Individuals also have to take part in this transformation, pressing decisionmakers to enact systemic changes, at the same time taking complementary actions as conscious consumers and local activists.
