I'm a developer turned marketer who led growth marketing for B2B SaaS companies. About 2 months ago, I turned an IndieHacker who's built product and now trying to market them.
When I worked for others - I worked with a clear strategy and never doubted anything I implemented; and got great results.
But now, as a marketer of my own products, I often doubt my own strategies. As a developer - I know the product I built is solid and has market demand. I'd have been happy if the same product was developed by someone else and I was given the responsibility to market it.
I know what to do; and I am doing it - but there's some doubt; and frankly, I don't know why.
It's like being an experienced surgeon. You might have done hundreds of successful surgeries, but when you are operating on your own son / daughter - you may not feel just as confident.
Would love to know what you think.
