Meetings are an effective way to bring people together & get work done. But they can also cause stress & burnout.
Tell us if you love them or hate them and why ? π
@manas_sharma oh yes .. this is life)
as a regular 2 hour meeting π but this raises questions for management, and what people really do during such calls)
I'm working remotely and my team and I are in a 15-hour different timezone so I would say I love team meetings! Much more efficient way to get things done rather than relying on emails and Slack.
@manas_sharma It truly is! Fortunately, the team is really thoughtful. Most importantly, I have room to be creative, learn, and test. Our product is connected to my childhood memory so timezone difference can't stop me :)
I think meetings should be limited to very important topics rather than than having them frequently. Quality matters more than quantity, and you have to keep in mind the people in the meeting are taking time out of their day and work to attend.
So I think meetings should be held infrequently, but much effort should be put into making attending worthwhile.
Meetings are important as 1- more effective and idea sparkling than communication in texts. 2-Teams can collaborate better with people who they know better. Meetings in some way help us to know our colleagues. BUT sometimes the meetings may contain too many work-unrelated topics and sometimes waste time.
It has to be balanced. Not too many meetings otherwise you can't have a blocked time for deep work. Meetings are better in the afternoon rather than the morning!
