I notice I spend less time doing work but I get more work done. So efficiency > looking busy.
Definitely a boost in productivity for me, but I understand that might not be the case for everyone.
if anything, work from home has increased productivity for me as I tend to work through the hours I would usually commute. Also, given the flexibility of being allowed to work in my PJs, I have been working longer than I usually would. Some times, it is not a good thing but having the flexibility definitely helps.
As someone who has always been a big proponent of working from the office, I have definitely noticed a drop in my productivity since transitioning to working from home. While there are certainly some benefits to not having a daily commute and being able to work in a comfortable environment, I have found that the distractions of being at home can be a major hindrance to my productivity.
I have found it much more difficult to stay focused and motivated while working from home. I also miss the social aspect of being in an office, as well as the collaboration and brainstorming that comes from being around other people.
Overall, while I can see the appeal of working from home, I personally prefer the structure and productivity of working from the office.
@hemantwarier I feel the same actually, speaking of the home distractions as such. Oh and team collaboration is of course something special about the office work :)
Depends on your role. For ICs (Individual Contributor) WFH can be a great choice. But for Managers - not so much.
But circular problem, Managers managing ICs have to be in office, which is why ICs too have to be in office :)
Either ways, it depends on what kind of environment you're working from, some individuals can be more productive working from office :)
I find my output far higher at home than in the office. That said, I generally plan the majority of my meetings for office days, as I find them more productive face-to-face, but I find there are less distractions at home on average.
For some people, the lack of a structured work environment and the distractions of home life may make it more difficult to concentrate and maintain a high level of productivity. Others may find that the flexibility of working from home allows them to be more productive, as they can create their own schedule and work in an environment that is comfortable and conducive to their needs. Overall, the impact of working from home on productivity will vary depending on the individual and their unique circumstances.
Nothing beats the feeling of being in an office full of awesome hardworking people and getting inspired and motivated by their work and effort. But to be honest, at times being in your place, working in comfort and peace can bring a whole new perspective and innovation.
Working from home on my 🚶♂️walking desk is improving my health and productivity, and I would NOT trade it for going into an office scenario!
The latest stats I saw was that the average office worker was getting about 3 hours of work done daily. Add the two-plus hours of commuting to and from work - It's an insane proposition.
It's very easy to lose focus and structure working from home. Starts off easy, but over time it reveals how disciplined (or not) you are. Regardless it's a good thing to know and work on.
To me environmental factor is huge. So home is a place for me to relax and rest. So it does make me feel bit relaxed... I prefer to work outside like cafe or an office to be productive.
Maybe if I reset my mind and change my home environment I can be more productive?!
