If a close friend wants to become a developer, do you recommend it or not?

I'd say yes but with a word of caution it's not always easy.

I would recommend it, but also with considerations and advice. Developing is not an easy thing and there are many unexpected challenges on the developing journey. But at the same time, development is a rewarding career path with vast opportunities. If they are truly motivated, I’d like to encourage them.

If you happen to have a meticulous friend who can sit in one place for a long time and trusts computers more than themselves, I think you could recommend it to them.
