Yes, I've heard many creators say that they experiment with different thumbnails and titles too, I think many creators use thumbnails as a sort of a "second title", and in my experience, I'll read the text on the thumbnail before the actual title

As a regular viewer, I don’t mind if the image is still readable and looks clear. I'll keep watching the video. However, it's a different case when it comes to more advanced content like cinematic videos or film trailers. I appreciate it when the thumbnail has great quality.

So up until February, I worked at Linus Tech Tips in their lab as a subject matter expert. I wasn't directly connected to editing, but I picked up quite a bit while I was there. Thumbnails absolutely will impact a video's views. Major youtubers have multiple people in charge of designing their thumbnails, and there's a lot of analytics behind the current trends that we see as viewers.

@udaya_sri generative AI to me is a strange situation. I have a lot of friends that work in the games industry as artists, so to see artists work used without attribution upsets me. That being said, progress is a fickle beast, and industries are regularly displaced throughout history. I think that if you've trained your GAN on content and you've licensed it fairly, then it's fair game, but since there's a lot of work that goes into designing the right thumbnail I don't know if we're there yet with prompt engineering vs actual human design.

Absolutely, @udaya_sri! A high-quality thumbnail can definitely impact a video’s views. 📈 It’s often the first thing that grabs viewers' attention and gives them a visual hint about the content. In the realm of Artificial Intelligence, where competition is fierce, an eye-catching and relevant thumbnail can make all the difference. 😍 What do you think are the most crucial elements of a perfect thumbnail?

100% Almost every pro Youtuber, will change the thumbnail after posting the video. It's super important, as people will see this video only when they think you thumbnail is interesting or useful.

It definitely does because then why would the number youtuber be changing it and testing a new thumbnail, every few hours? (I am talking about Mr. Beast)

Absolutely! A high-quality thumbnail is like the stylish packaging of a tech gadget - it entices users to click and discover what's inside the video, boosting those view counts!
