Although not a direct competitor, there have long been a string of "Craig's List Killers" that sought to disrupt Craig's List simply by being a "better" or "cleaner" version of the classifieds site. In this case, Etsy is coming from a position of strength, and with enough local area coverage in certain communities, Etsy can serve its users — sellers and buyers — at a more local level, better, and differently, than Etsy.
Nice find. My wife uses Etsy's point of sale app for her online decal business when she attends local trade shows. This Local app is a nice extension of that activity.
It's a fraud, The sellers are not real. There's no troubleshooting when buying using this platform.
Etsy doesn't operate any support center, SO it looks like there's an option to open a case or talk with them when problems occur but it doesn't really work- it's just a fake feature so you'll feel you can trust them.
You can try sending a message to the sellers but they won't answer once the payment approved.
When buying at Etsy's you can forget about your money or the item you've ordered.
And of course- they have a lot of bugs (but that's not really surprising...)
