Has anyone tried Clay for managing relationships and networking?

by

I've recently come across Clay, and it looks like a super interesting tool for managing relationships and staying on top of networking. I'm curious if anyone here has tried it out.

  • How has it fit into your workflow?

  • Does it really help with staying on top of connections?

  • Any pros and cons you'd call out?

Would love to hear your experiences—especially if you’ve found unique ways to get the most out of it!

Not yet, what does Clay do ?

Yeah, I've used Clay! It's great for keeping track of contacts but it takes a little time to set up properly.

@edith_christian true the onboarding process is quite long and hectic

I'm confused. When you say "managing relationships", do you mean following people and having talks from time to use? Because in this case, maybe a CRM would fit better? I could be wrong, since in my memories, Clay was mostly an enrichment tool (think outreach, SDRS, etc)

Great question! Yeah, when I say 'managing relationships,' I’m thinking more along the lines of staying on top of personal and professional connections—like remembering to check in with people, keeping track of past conversations, and being more intentional with networking.

I’ve used traditional CRMs before, but they often feel too sales-focused or rigid for personal relationship management.

@koshima_satija - @Clay is a great product but I believe I always have very little control over how much would it cost and how do I optimize for best workflow for my GTM.

I am still trying to cobble around a workflow that works and still doesn't overshoot my credit limits

Saw couple of tutorials but no one generally answers above clearly. Though I am in love with the product❤️

I came across a post on linkedin today which talked highly about using Clay for small GTM teams as it automates a lot of manual work that SDRs do on a day to day basis.

I think broader concern is around cost for smaller teams. It is going to be interesting to watch how they help startups adopt ( maybe a For Startups program where credits are given)

Launching soon!

We use Clay for list generation and filling out the data set for incomplete prospect information. We use it with a CRM system not instead of it. It's a solid data source and generation tool.
