Just tried out Spotify Greenroom and it's super clean. The ability to record conversations & have a chat function is great. I think eventually Twitter Spaces is going to be more spontaneous convos and Greenroom will be more scheduled and "radio-esk".
Everybody wins if these social audio platforms specialize in their respective propositions and let this not become another monopolistic scenario.
Users should be able to differentiate between these platforms depending on their consumption needs.
Do I want to expand my professional reach? I use Twitter spaces!
Do I want to build with my community? I go to Clubhouse!
Also, we need to start subscribing to small audio & community based startups who provide more options and tools to network efficiently with less abundance.
Absolutely love Twitter Spaces! π₯° When we launched our Shopify integration for @reeviewapp, we hosted several live events during launch week, and one of them was on Twitter Spaces. We brought in outside experts to share their experience and advice on community-led growth for product launches. We also got featured on Shopify's blog (not once, but twice!) because one of their copywriters attended our Twitter Spaces event. I consider that to be a major win! π
I'd love to see Spotify win. But I think Twitter has a better chance just because it already houses a majority of online relationships.
Although I could see Spotify trying to upend them by creating high quality rooms with Artists. And if we ever completely eliminate internet speed latency, Spotify could have artists jam with each other live. That would be awesome.
Honestly i've tried all, it depends the popularity of the location.
Most people prefer clubhouse and most people prefer twitter spaces.
Depends on their background of work and where their friends at.
Each app have different audience.
If Clubhouse would have held up to privacy promises and really pushed for ephemeral content I believe it would be more successful - there is room for a social network where everything said isn't on permanent record.
For now Twitter is in first place cause of how it already had an existing community, is open to all and has more features like reactions and sharing tweets which helps in keeping the drop in audio sessions lively. I love Clubhouse but Twitter spaces just does it for me.
I am waiting for Twitch, YouTube, Snapchat to come into this space also.
I have tried clubhouse, Twitter spaces, discord.
I like that on clubhouse you have to invite, but Twitter spaces is very good also.
I use telegram but never tried their social audio thing
Tried out Spotify Greenroom today. Loved the experience. It's also cool that you can record rooms and turn them into podcasts. That's not currently possible on the other platforms. But I think Twitter stands a good chance because people already use it day to day, so it might be easier to adopt.
I've only tried Clubhouse, and "meh" is where I am so far. I'll add here that my son and all his friends have been on Discord voice chat forever. I don't think they're going anywhere anytime soon.
this is not quite an audio space, but i just started playing with faves and it feels like the perfect way to integrate audio in a meaningful way. most of the audio-only platforms just feel like i'm sitting on a conference call.

I will only choose Spotify because I like the platform, but I have not tried the alternatives yet, if you can suggest one to start it would be cool ...
I've just attempted Clubhouse, and "meh" is the place where I am up until now. I'll add here that my child and every one of his companions have been on Discord voice visit until the end of time. I don't believe they're going anyplace at any point in the near future.
