What are your expectations for a Product Hunt launch?

Recently, I've had a number of people ask me what I'm expecting from my launch. The question might seem obvious, but when I really sat with it, I felt like there was a lot layers to it. I'm curious - if you have a launch soon, what are your expectations for the outcome and how it will serve your goals? And, if you're already launched, how did the outcome of your launch align with your original hopes or expectations?
