NEVER PROCRASTINATE. AS SOON AS YOU GET AN IDEA, START WORKING.
Since last year I am procrastinating and so far I haven't launched a single side-project.
@falak_sher I feel you! I ignored all my side projects in 2022. One of my goals for 2023 is to stop procrastinating and get going on all those projects! đ€
Learn basic of programming, so you can do basic things without anyone external. That was important 15 years ago, now there are a lot of no-code tool.
Learn to get rest and sleep enough.
Balance is a key âŻïž
1.Learn persuasion (& sales)
2.Start coding
3.Save dough and invest in stocks instead of partying a lot
4.Sleep a little more
5.Pick up any sport (serious stuff, not casual attempt)
6.Don't dabble in multiple things.
Life is numbers. There's no way around it. From your social security number to your credit score, your college GPA to your 401k, how many children do you have, how many divorces do you have, how much is your house worth? These are all numbers.. My younger self would have said love can pay the bills.
Stop thinking like a broke founder and start thinking like an investor. Use spreadsheets, calculate ROI, invest money into multiple asset classes.
Start with a strong financial position, make small bets and learn quickly. Be patient, you only get the real benefit with consistent effort. No need to go 100% go big or go home. 50% will do, even 25% is better than nothing.
Business is like cooking, you can't expect to cook on high-flame and not burn your dish. Don't cook hungry. Don't start a business when broke.
Manage your energy better than you manage your time. If you have time but no energy, you canât perform well. On the other hand, if you donât have time but you have the energy, you may be able to get more things done in less time.
At one point, I was a bit too obsessed with getting things done that I tried to fill every waking hours with activities, be it posting on Twitter, creating a graphic on Canva or answering questions on forum. It took me a while to realise that some of those activities contribute very little to the bigger goals. I was doing them for my own self-fulfilling prophecy - I felt good and productive.
@phantomus_team I quit drinking, smoking cigarettes and vaping for 3-1/2 years and it was the best change for my life I ever made. Mental clarity, healthy skin and weight control, more natural energy and excitement with less depression or anxiety. I finally excelled at getting back into my education I went back to college and decided I was mature enough to handle drinking again for the âole college experienceâ. Within two months it turned into binge drinking, no money, missing classes and blackout âmemoriesâ with people that werenât my friends so I immediately quit again.
TLDR; Take care of yourself and if you think you have an issue or want to make a healthy change in your life quit those bad habits for 6 months and watch how quickly your life can positively change. Itâs incredible and youâll never get that time back that you lost to mindlessly binging.
@justin_gardner Thanks Justin, and I did. Every thing you metioned, happened - the quality if life, work, and everything in between increased right away, canât share how much because its a lot over the past year.
@phantomus_team I think moreover - alcohol has a huge impact on your hormones and your general state of balance. Clarity is key when you're trying to kill it in your career!
@phantomus_team@justin_gardner I came here to make a shitpost about "youngest self", but this was a genuinely touching thread to come across. Sometimes the internet doesn't suck

That the right institution you study at can exponentially increase your knowledge, expand your network and expose you to ideas, concepts and theories that help you break plateaus. But that's the exciting part of it - so work hard towards your goals, surround yourself with people who are 10x smarter than you and be absolutely ok with failing.
Don't assume people know what they're doing or talking about, ask probing question to help articulate the problem and the stated solutions. Be kind and think of your coworkers as people not problems to solve or avoid.
