    I voted no. Spending one week on LinkedIn/Twitter is enough to show you that the DMs taking place would be 99% "please upvote me" spam. I personally don't see a way around that at this point and allowing it to happen directly on PH would be a nightmare.

    Cold DM nightmare. PH should focus on better moderation tools. there is 10 to 1 growth hackers vs makers atm 😅

    @eonpilot - Definitely!
    Yes but they need to work out a way to avoid the spammy - upvote me issue that is most likely to crop up!

    @maxwellcdavis - I agree!

    @maxwellcdavis If only we could get a downvote to counter that 😏

    Yes, but I'm worried that all the "communication" will be something like this: "Hey, we're launching X, please check it out, your support would mean a lot to us. Thanks!"

    @chris_sarca Same worry but then again, I think you could implement an open to networking for those who wanted to accept inquiries. Sort of like LInkedIn does but much less formal.

    @chris_sarca THIS. I regret adding my LinkedIn to be honest, that's all the requests I got when it was up
    @chris_sarca So true, I have something like 10 messages/day on Linkedin with: "Hey, we're launching X, please check it out, your support would mean a lot to us. Thanks!" Don't want to think about what will happen with PH DM...

    The discussion forum is fine, if people want to DM they can do it outside of producthunt. Otherwise, like everyone else is saying there'd be too much spam.

    I think Discussions offer that space with a topic-driven approach. Perhaps there is room for growth around the concept but agree with @chris_sarca. We have LinkedIn for the rest I guess lol.

    @hashnimo - Okay…
    Product Hunt is about discovering products, not social networking. Adding communication features could detract from the main goal and create noise. Let's keep it simple and focused.

    @realvladgolub PH actually had DM back in the OG days. It was great. but back then the growth hackers and marketers had not yet discovered PH. Mostly just makers hanging out and making stuff.

    Hi there, That's an interesting question! In my opinion, having a way for users to communicate with each other on Product Hunt Should be beneficial in many ways. It could allow users to ask each other questions, share insights, and build connections within the community. However, there are also potential downsides to consider, such as an increase in spam or off-topic discussions. Ultimately, it would depend on how well the feature is implemented and moderated.

    Yes, it would be beneficial if Product Hunt implemented a feature which allows its users to directly interact. This could include features such as messaging boards or chat rooms where people can discuss products they find on the site.
