hey mate,
monday blues? totally get it. here's what's been working for me:
1. sunday prep: outline next week's tasks. eases the monday overwhelm.
2. morning routines: a bit of exercise, meditation, or even a walk.
3. start with a win: even if it's just clearing your inbox. momentum matters.
4. breaks: legit, just stand up and stretch every hour.
6. chat with a colleague: sometimes just talking it out helps.
7. cuz, it's a marathon, not a sprint. pace yourself.
hope this helps. find what clicks for you. keep rocking!
At the start of the week, stress is not so severe. But it tends to build up during the workweek, so relaxing and recharging over the weekend is crucial.
I think the question is why do you have stress at the beginning of the work week and what things help you mitigate stress in your daily like - do all of those things. If you're constantly stressed at the beginning of a work week maybe revisit why that is and address the root issue.
first of all, If you like your job, you will not be stressed. This is golden rule. otherwise, you need to review your decisions.
second point is prioritize the tasks and be consistent.
All of these are great advice. The old saying “you have to eat the elephant one bite at a time” always pops into my head when I start to feel overwhelmed. Break it down into tasks and get it to work. Be sure to take breaks with sometime of stress reliever (I usually choose some type of exercise).
Breaking down big goals into small milestones and getting to mindset that whatever I am doing now will yield results in the future, so I better be trying, testing out things, succeeding, failing, trying again. It will pay off in the future!
I've noticed that as soon as I stop taking walks in nature, my stress level spikes tremendously.
Also, I try my best to think about only one task at hand, and I can't move any faster if I do everything at once.
I used to have a problem with falling asleep because I kept thinking about all the tasks I have to do. So, I've now learned to be in the present moment if I sleep, not thinking about the past or future. It used to take 1.5 hours to fall asleep. Now, I usually fall asleep within 20 minutes or less.
And of course, if I sleep well, I'm not so stressed :)
Since I am currently alone in my role and in my team of Marketing, I have a very heavy workload as I need to do everything on my own. So, I start off the week by writing down all the things that I need to get done during the coming week, and then I start dividing the different days during the week into smaller 'sprints' with different tasks. At the end of the day, I evaluate whether I had the time to finish everything I was supposed to, and if not I need to work a little harder the following day to meet all my deadlines.
I used to jump in straight to work first thing in the morning.
Nowadays, I go for a long walk on Sundays and think about the most important tasks and how they help me reach my goal.
In the evening I create a list in my notebook and plan just enough tasks for 2-3 hours of deep work a day.
I spend the rest of the day on a Manager schedule - talking with customers, writing emails, interacting on social media, etc.
Plus I start my days with 5-10 minutes of meditation and a walk with coffee!
Sit tight, go to notion make a to-do list and assign weekly tasks to your team and getting ready for all challenges like late deliveries or any other issues. I have Digital Marketing agency so i know i have to keep record of my clients but 1 time i do something wring due to this stress with my Aluminium Kozijnen local business and my listing goes down since then i always make to-do list. It's important.
ATM I'm also working on this.
I tried working 7 days a week but it definitely hurt my longer term productivity
I'm now doing no work on Sundays - apart from setting out a list of goals for my week, and breaking that down into days.
Organisation / planning is basically the cure for stress, as long as you are making progress and focusing on the right things, theres not much else you can do :)
Task-batching and clear prioritization. Not mastering these yet but getting better.
Happy week to all of you, if Monday wasn't the best one, it's okay to start the week's productivity on Tuesday. :)
@tanya_p Yes! Here, the trick is distribute each to-do into your planner so it helps visualize your days, weeks, months... But sometimes things happens like your computer breaks.
It seems to me that if there is stress at work at the beginning of the week, something is wrong with the weekend =) Stress usually builds up by the last day of work and is relieved with music, beer, hookah and board games with coworkers on Friday night with nice music
If I feel stressed and overwhelmed, I usually take my time to get into the work mood. Sometimes, simple breathing practices, tea, or sweets can make a really big mood change.
More specifically, journaling and maintaining a structured list of tasks make it easier to manage everything. Here, people have already shared some tools for that.
Also, I’d like to add that it is really easy to dissect big tasks into small ones, but it makes a big difference.
Wishing everyone productive and stress free week!
Definitely make a to-do list. I realized all the stress comes from me thinking and worrying about things, so I just stopped thinking and started doing, and making a to-do list helps me get started.
