How do you decide which tool to use among the group? What channels or methods do you go through?

There are so many tools (AI and non-AI) that do similar things or are in the same vertical. What steps do you take / channels or mediums do you check to land on "hey this is the one I'm going to buy"?

I always start by checking user reviews.

@alicesmith are there specific platforms / mediums you always go to? Or do you just google search?
Most of the time, the decision is based on the experience during the free plan. However, if a salesperson is assigned to me, I may decide based on a proposal.
@hayato_onodera hands-on trial + a (sweet)deal, gotcha! Thanks for your response Hayato!

I will first read the introduction of the official website, and then experience the function of the product.
@shawn_yuan2 ah, so you are more of "let me get my hands dirty instead of listening to the crowd". Right on, that's the best way - only if we had more hours in the day!!! haha
Personally, I watch Youtube for real reviews. I also check some websites that gives reviews to product like TrustPilot.
@eliza_crescini In an era of abundant paid reviews, is there a certain keyword / vibe you check to see if they are "real" or more authentic? It's getting harder both for customers and suppliers of the services to shine through with authenticity
@tom_s_lee Yes, there are a few keywords and vibes that I check to see if a review is "real" or more authentic. I look for specificity, details, nuance, and verisimilitude.
@eliza_crescini thanks for sharing your personal tips! :)

Thorough check with user reviews, especially the non-5 start ones.
