just wanted to start this out by saying that I'm new to this community and creating products. I've been a guy who has been in sales and marketing for 15 years, but my true passion has always been for making things. I've always wanted to be a coder and just make some products that I could sell as a side hustle or something. However, even though I have read some books and watch YouTube videos I still have no idea how to find that type of product I would like to make.
So I just want to ask community, how did you come up with your ideas? How did you know what to make or what problem to solve? What gave you the confidence to start on something specific?

You need to see the needs of future customers. And think about how to satisfy this need.

My team and I have pivoted a couple of times. A good couples of times. Here's what we learned:
- Jot down the things that were painful when you used to work for a company.
- See if you had to install/create something for the company you worked for before
- Has anyone ever complained (ideally a boss) about anything?
For us, I think, the thing that we didn't think of before is that we have already all had issues before! Do something you already know, even before you start, that people want.
