Do you search before asking a question in Slack?

I'm curious to find out what your go-to approach is to finding answers to questions in Slack. Do you search first, every time? Sometimes? Or do you find a "questions" channel and shoot your question in there? Also, if you're someone who _answers_ questions, what are you doing to help people use Slack better?
