Anyone looking for an opportunity in B2B software?
If you want to launch a B2B software business, here is the big new opportunity that is currently up for grabs:
1. Build Qworum APIs on top of the REST APIs of third-party B2B SaaS.
2. Sell to the SaaS customers and partners.
Why is this an opportunity? Because REST and GraphQL are not fully compatible with Gartner's "Composable Enterprise" vision, which Qworum shares. In other words, REST and GraphQL are lacking many features to make them suitable for building business applications that are composed of internal and external services. And I can go into the details of why that is (in a gist: user authentication and inter-service dependencies are issues that only Qworum has managed to solve).
So, how can Qworum API makers monetise? Two options:
1. Sell the code for a working Qworum API that is based on a particular SaaS vendor.
2. Sell domain-based subscriptions for an online API; the customer will be identified by the URL in the "Referer" HTTP header of the API call.
Let's get the ball rolling! Any questions?
