Facebook and Orkut started the trend of creating a social profile to get to know more about your group of friends.
LinkedIn monetized on creating online resumes
Instagram made sharing of videos and pictures popular
Snapchat's niche was disappearing photographs which teens loved
Tiktok became the talk of the town due it its lip-sync on audio to create funny and engaging videos
What's next in your opinion?

Well don't forget Youtube and Twitch. Twitch is coming on strong and has a very loyal community!

@olatz_urrutia Yes ofcourse. Live streaming is yet another framework that has made inroads!
However, YouTube also launched Shorts (like TikTok) to get the audience engaged!
@olatz_urrutia Any ideas on what's going to crack the code in the coming years?
Videodeck
I think it could be a photo-sharing app, perhaps? Videos content is very popular but it seems like every other app has it now. I remember when Instagram announced they were going to focus more on videos, many people expressed disappointment and said they were nostalgic for the old days when it was all about photos. If a new app can find a way to feed this nostalgia, I think it has a huge chance to become the next sensation.
I think it may be Metaverse
We're planning on launching RECRD soon, a video platform that enables creators to monetise up to 100% ad revenue, check out our upcoming page here: https://www.producthunt.com/upco...
@anoirhoumou looking forward to it. All the best for your launch!
I think the next platform would be something that makes us feel good about ourselves. All social media till now makes us feel bad. Twitter makes me think of myself dumber than everyone else. LinkedIn makes me feel less successful than others. Insta makes me feel less good-looking or less traveled than others.
A social media that makes its users feel good is the next place to be. I believe GAS app is a step in that direction. Something on those lines - users feel good, more privacy, less abuse. A platform that solves for all shortcomings of existing platforms!

@sherryxena any crazy ideas?
Can't imagine any new thing.
I'm looking forward to Spill to be honest. I'm not a big fan of Twitter so hoping for something different, better.
