Trying to get an article in the beginning is wasted energy. It's often only useful if you have a consumer product.
If you do want coverage, you need to look at it from the media's perspective. They will write about you when there is a story to tell. So you need to first help them do that. No journalist - at least not a credible one - will ever write a puff piece, no matter what some PR tells...

Hi! Like many others, we've found the lack of open toilets a real barrier to going very far at the moment, seeing friends or going to the shops.
As the UK's current toilet databases all seem to be out of date, my brother Charles and I have created lockdownloo.com. It is a way for people to submit open toilets they find - whether they be at pubs, cafes, parks or stations.
