On the specs page, it says the weight is almost 40lbs. Doesn't that make it difficult for someone to carry up stairs to their apartment or office? Even with GPS and a digital lock, I wouldn't leave this thing sitting in public

Awesome to see Omni in New York. I am a believer in encouraging a borrowing economy, especially for things that just sit idle and take up space for more than 90% of the time. I'd be very curious to hear how price points are calculated and what prompted the pivot from storage to rental. I know I was personally excited for the idea of Omni 2.0 in New York since storage can be so limited.

Love the idea behind this. I would be curious to know why I can't opt to keep this data local to my device. If I'm the only one who has access to it, then having it stored in the cloud seems like a convenience piece more than a functionality piece. Most of the data could be re-entered on a new device pretty easily.

Just signed up, I would love that BROADCAST X2 plan that you mentioned to give it a shot. My only piece of feedback would be either ditch the password for phone verification (password less), or don't require me do phone verification if I also need a password. It was a little redundant in the signup flow.

This is great, congrats on a fresh new take on what a weather app looks like! Mapbox + Unity have some really cool data that could potentially let you render cities in a semi-accurate way depending on how the current low poly art is rendered!

It would be interesting to make these components available in native iOS code as well, which would help cut down on development time.

I'm curious why they only seem to target public figures right now. I would love for my live streams to show up in my friend's Facebook newsfeed.

I actually backed this on Kickstarter and was pretty disappointed. Half of the light strips are now faulty (started only a few months after receiving it) and the software never gets updated. I use CloudApp at the moment to automatically upload my screenshots and put a URL in my clipboard, but this is exactly what I needed for times when attaching an actual image is better than sending a URL to an image and I don't want to go digging in my screenshots folder

For a media-specific alternative, I strongly recommend Plex to anyone who is looking to stream their media to their devices. It has support for most devices and even allows you to 'sync' your media offline with their paid subscription.
