I totally agree that retention is key, and I fully agree with the second approach. But instead of discounts, I like to focus on real connection. Engaging with users by understanding their needs, listening to their feedback, and continuously make improvements according to user's experience.
I believe users have to feel special, heard and supported. Genuine relationships drive long-term engagement.

For me, going for a small trek to one of the closest mountains, as well as treating myself with a nice coffee, and some reading time, are small rewards that I try to put into practise. Always, half way through the week to kind of anknowledge the progress, reconnect with myself and my purpose and keep up the motivation!
