I love Trakt for what it is, a TV Show / Movie database with an extensive API,
However, the transphobic/homophobic people in the community really ruin social side of the experience.
Trakt has gone to sh1t recently. Backstabbing loyal members, doubling VIP price for no reason other than greed, pay walled a lot of free features. Beware of them. Check their forums before creating an account to see how treacherous they are. Or use something like Simkl instead - great devs, they listen and actually engage users instead of closing and hiding negative posts. Justin Nemeth, one of Trakt's owners has become the titular head. He can't or won't defend what his company has been doing

I have this connected to Plex. Great for syncing watch status. Great for getting a year-end "Wrapped"-like summary of what you watched. There are some third party apps/extensions to pull in data from Netflix and such.
