For sure we all have used some kind of productivity apps and most of those are not effective.
I see pomodoro apps as some kind of pseudo-concept.
This app is developed at several coffee shops.
it's goal is purely to engage the user to work at a relax settings, with background music turned on.
What do you mean by toggle your reward circle in different way?
What is it, why you decided to do that, what was the problem, and why do you think it solves it?
Why background music is important?
Design looks slick

Oh yes! here you ask, I should address it.
This app can detect and save the surrounding music use microphone.
And this is precise the reward loop.
It easy to explain but hard to describe that feeling... If you know what music is playing at background of a coffee shop, you will find a sense of control of the environment, personally it pushes me to sit down and get into the flow. and if there is no music is playing, when you have hobbit to turn on tomoropomodoro when you work, it will remind you to turn on the music yourself.
The ethic here, unlike other pomodoro (or tree planting) app, it does't focus on the result, like how many time you spend on the things you working on, I don't think this is good to work hard and work for long time. Rather, it focus on the process, it remind you to work at coffee shop, turn on the music, make your screen time enjoyable.
I put this on the page (https://news.ycombinator.com/ite...)
Thanks for ask.
