Hey guys! Pumped to be here. I'm Nathan, founder of The Feed.
When I was 15 I had a niche company that made custom Minecraft maps for famous YouTubers. It blew through my expectations, cracking 6-figures, with a $0 customer acquisition cost.
Why? We built a small but mighty audience that watched our YouTube 'let's build' videos.
Now I'm watching founders like Sahil Bloom, Alex Becker, and Ryan Serhant do this at a scale WAY bigger than me, building audiences of 100k+ across Twitter, YouTube, IG, etc.
Ultimately, these audiences become a flywheel for everything from investing and fundraising to building 7-8 figure businesses.
And it's worked pretty well.
1) Sahil makes $1M+ between his newsletter, VC fund, and agency.
2) Alex Becker sold his SaaS company for $110M.
3) Ryan Serhant's brokerage has closed $1B+ in real estate; he's sold $10M houses just by posting a TikTok video about them.
My conclusion was that the new competitive differentiator as a founder is your audience.
How did they grow their audience? I deep dive into their Interviews, Posts, and Strategies so you don’t have to. Then deliver the TLDR straight to your inbox 1x per week. That's The Feed!
@nathan_may1 Looks like the upvotes are frozen (an you're launching soon) Eager to support - Please reach out to my LinkedIn so we can connect (I was unable to find you) https://www.linkedin.com/in/dani...
Very neat concept! Checked out some previous versions and it looks interesting and broad.
Would be really neat to see something niche'd down to only focusing on how they got their first 10k/100k followers (First post they made, first viral post, etc)
Maybe some fun room left in the newsletter market for that niche. Congrats on your launch! Looks very polished.
Fitting with the theme - Would love to hear how YOU got your first 1000 subs to this newsletter? 😃
@esus These are great ideas!
Each case study is a little different - Shaan Puri's focused on his biggest tweet (and his framework for all of his tweets).
Codie Sanchez's started from 0 (and she rocked to like 700k+ in 2 months, it was insane!)
Etc. - I have a lot of fun choosing a slightly different time period for each entrepreneur.
My first 1,000 subs came from friends and facebook ads - nothing too fancy or growth hacky :)
@alex_chepovoi Thanks Alex! I've always been a sucker for case studies. But a lot of the ones on founders of 100M+ companies just seemed a bit out of reach.
People doing $1-30M just seemed a bit more attainable and I don't feel like we take a closer look at people currently in the trenches enough
Congrats on launching The Feed @nathan_may1 ! 🎉
It’s super exciting to see a platform that recognizes the power of "audience" as a competitive differentiator and provides insights on leveraging it.
The idea of learning from the strategies of successful founders and having those insights delivered straight to the inbox is a great idea!
I’m curious, how do you plan on ensuring the insights remain actionable and relevant to a diverse range of founders with varying business models and audience types? Also - how are you getting the founders (or deciding who you want to prospect)?
