I purchased the pro version of the tool for today’s podcast. My experience with the tool is the worst in recent times. 1. The website did not work (either it did not respond to touch on ipad or too slow to open). 2.When started recording, microphone have too much background white noise (only when i use the recording). When the recording is closed, it is not the case. 3. Video did not appear for a long time even after recording. 4. Tried with Mac as my ipad may have issues with internet or permissions. But faced the same issue with the Mac as well. 5. tried to file a complain in the help section. But it did not allowed me to write more than a few words. Worst tool. Only let to lose the time of you and your guest.
I used Zoom for years, which is great for phone calls. A couple of years ago someone told me "Dude, you're a legit podcaster. It's time to up your game." Then I found Squadcast. It's the best of the best, it's basically like giving your guest the red carpet experience for recording, and the quality is unsurpassed.
I've used this service for years. Rock solid. When I met the founders right after they launched I said, "Make it SUPER easy, and make sure it works. I don't want to be clicking a button and thinking, I hope this works." As they added more features, they've still kept it simple.
Been using for over 3 years. Even better now that it’s merged with Descript.
New to the product used it for a total of 3 sessions so far. On the 3rd session it failed to record one of the participants, I have yet to figure out why. And so far SquadCast Support has interacted with me like a AI bot and not answered my simple questions like where is the recording? and why did this occur? The missing audio participant shows up on he merged cloud audio/video file with the other people in the podcast just fine.... Support has been subpar, just keep sending me white papers on how to record in Squadcast, never just having a conversation with me to figure this out. I need to why this occurred if I am to continue to use the product.
Was great until they partnered. The platform is sloppy, and confusing since they merged with Descript. The 2 platforms are not integrated well. Trying to get help is a nightmare since support doesn't know how to read an email and reply to the actual question. There is no place to cancel a subscription either. Been a member of Squad Cast since 2020 and have many hours that I haven't used for recording, essentially I am saying the banked hours are not worth it. So frustrated with the lack of customer support and user experience with the product that I am leaving.
On my podcast, I interview someone who has been through a very traumatic or unusual situation. These are people that don't normally get interviewed, so they usually need a little coaching. The last thing I would need is some type of technical process to walk them through, or a glitch that makes me interrupt their heartfelt story and start over. Squadcast has made these interviews super smooth. And editing is a breeze.
Been using it since October and it has changed my workflow process. Editing takes WAY less time than it used to. Audio sounds so much cleaner than it used to.
