Reverie reimagines journaling. Every day, it calls you at your ideal time and turns your spoken thoughts into beautifully formatted entries. No more forgotten notebooks or unopened apps - simply answer Reverie's daily phone call and tell your story.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm thrilled to introduce Reverie, a journal that calls you every day!
The hardest part of journaling is, well, *actually* doing it! It's easy to lose a notebook or "forget" to open a journaling app. The second hardest part is knowing what to write about, and making your words flow.
Reverie solves both!
Every day, at a time that you choose, you'll receive a phone call - something that takes an active effort to ignore or decline. When you answer, Reverie will say hello, perhaps ask about something in your day, and then leave the floor to you and your thoughts. No need to say anything profound or eloquent; a simple stream-of-consciousness is all that Reverie needs to transcribe and format your thoughts into a beautiful journal entry.
Reverie turns journaling from a chore into an almost meditative exercise.
How It Works
- Daily Call: Receive a scheduled phone call from Reverie every day at your preferred time.
- Speak Your Mind: Simply talk about your day, thoughts, or feelings for up to 10 minutes.
- Reverie Magic: Your spoken words are transformed into a structured, formatted journal entry.
- Review & Reflect: Access, edit and browse your entries
Features:

PS: Reverie was inspired by a website I discovered right here on ProductHunt about 10 years ago - Call Frank. It was a free service that lasted for a couple of years and called you every day; it gave you 60s to talk about your day. It was the only period I journaled consistently. Many thanks to Call Frank for the inspiration :)
@noahlittle Just the other day I was searching for a journalling app where I can speak my thoughts. Great one. Would have been great to see a limited feature freemium plan as well. Any plans to introduce it in the future?
@msnkarthik Thanks! It's tricky to have a fully free plan because there are not insignificant costs associated with it; it makes true phone calls which can be costly when there's a per-minute cost and they're every day.
With that being said, I'm definitely thinking about a once-weekly version or something to allow for a free plan!
Great concept.. the act of writing is a huge barrier to most people who would benefit from journaling. Even "stream of consciousness" journaling takes getting used to. Sounds like Reverie solves the activation problem for journaling as a whole.
@noahlittle is there an easy way to answer the call and reschedule it for a later time (in case we're busy when we get the call)?
@sepnorouzi Exactly! It changes the active process of choosing to journal into an active process to ignore/decline the call and *not* journal.
Right now, the easiest way is to temporarily change your call time on the dashboard, but I'm working on a feature where you can text Reverie and say "Call me in 30" or something to that effect and it'll reschedule the current day's call.
@noahlittle got it, and you could probably coarsely / easily validate the need for "call me later" by checking what % of scheduled calls are unanswered.
I suspect that if > 20% of calls are unanswered, it would be worth it to consider "call me later" as a feature. Another alternative that would give higher signal: text message ahead of the call to confirm/cancel/reschedule. There are a few trade-offs there but worth considering.
Good idea! I usually stop writing because I don’t know what to write and want my entries to be perfect. This might help me keep up with it. Congrats on the launch!!
How do you curate the soundscapes, and are there any personalization options for users? I’m curious if you’ve considered adding a feature that tracks user preferences over time to refine their experience?
