An AI teammate that proactively updates customer-facing docs

Promptless is an AI teammate that keeps your docs up to date, improving your customer experience and reducing lost revenue. It automatically drafts doc updates whenever a new Pull Request is opened, a support ticket is resolved, or you tag it in Slack.
Promptless
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Prithvi, co‑founder of Promptless. We’ve been helping early customers automatically update customer-facing docs since we were in YC W25, and we’re excited to launch Promptless more broadly today!
Why we built Promptless
Incomplete or out-of-date docs frustrate customers, flood support, and quietly kill revenue.
My cofounder and I wished we had something like this, both as doc authors and doc consumers. I used to run engineering at a fintech company, and since no developer enjoys updating docs, they often went out-of-date and customers complained. And when we write code, we regularly run into mistakes or omissions in vendors’ or dependencies’ docs that slow us down.
(Btw, this is only getting worse with AI coding assistants, since they often rely blindly on docs!)
What Promptless does
Promptless sits in your dev & support workflow and proactively drafts doc changes whenever something meaningful happens:
🔀 New PR opened → creates or edits relevant guides or references
🎟 Support ticket closed → patches or drafts FAQ / troubleshooting guides
💬 Tag @Promptless in Slack → suggests docs right from the thread
It publishes to wherever your docs live—Readme, Mintlify, Intercom, Zendesk, Markdown repos—so you don’t need to change your tool stack to use Promptless!
How it works
One‑click connect to GitHub, Slack, Jira/Linear, etc.
We build a product ontology from your existing docs (think of this as Promptless’s onboarding).
On every trigger, the Promptless agent grabs fresh context, reasons over the ontology, and produces concise, diff‑style doc suggestions you can accept or tweak.
Ship docs with one click—or automate approvals entirely.
Behind the scenes, AI agents—armed with context-rich tools to get information from your Jira/Linear, your PRs, your support tickets, your existing docs and style rules, and the web—get to work in real time to create and modify suggestions, tailed to your company.
Built for:
Devtool/API companies and open-source maintainers
SaaS teams with frequent releases
Solo technical writers supporting many teams
Technical writing orgs needing an AI tool tailored for their workflows
Support teams using AI chatbots that crave up‑to‑date knowledge

@Promptless @prithvi2206 How do you ensure accuracy and maintain context integrity when merging multiple triggers simultaneously (e.g., overlapping PRs or tickets affecting the same docs)?
Promptless
@Promptless @edmon_marine_clota Great question! Promptless has full context about other suggestions is has made, so it's actually quite good at this. Here's a real-world example:
Your team opens PR #123 for a new feature. Promptless detects that a doc update is warranted, and makes a suggestion.
You ship that new feature, but it's still in limited beta so you don't want to include it in the public documentation.
Based on customer-feedback, you open PR #124 for some adjustments to that feature. Promptless notices that it has an open suggestion for that feature based on PR #123, and so it's able to edit that suggestion to accurately reflect the updates.
Does that answer your question?

OMG, I was actually talking about something like this with a friend like, a few hours back. I have a LOT of questions.
I'm sure it must be very very difficult to reach out to developers at this stage and get them to use it in their pipeline? How do you do that?
Don't you think there should be a simple way they can test it out, like give it access to your github repo and it does everything else without having to do anything at all ?
Is there some specific reason you have bespoke pricing and the product not publicly available to test drive?
How do you charge? Subscription? AI Credits?

@rachitmagon Great questions!
Honestly that part was easier than I expected, at least initially. Most developers really don't like writing customer-facing docs, so they're willing to try it out! And now we've got enough of a reputation that we're getting inbound driven by word-of-mouth as well :)
Yes, that's basically what the onboarding looks like! Modulo some minor config things for people that have multiple docs sites, want to trigger Promptless from Slack or support messages, or want custom notification rules for their team (e.g. iOS doc updates go to #prod-ios, etc).
There's a public sign-up link on the top right, feel free to try it out! Pricing for startups (fewer than <200 docs) is $500/mo.
All-you-can-eat subscription. We still find people using Promptless in ways we didn't expect, so we don't want to have users rationing/limiting their usage.
