Awesome to see this live, @iwaffles. We've chatted a bit about this but I'm curious to learn more about how Pickle is different than the other CRMs like Folk, Affinity, Garden, and the many others.

@rrhoover Thanks for the support! Those are all great products and I think Pickle fits somewhere in between a product like Salesforce and AddressBook.app. I've tried to answer some of the differences in other responses so far, so here's something that focuses on one of the big ones: One of the biggest differentiators you'll notice right away is the ability to use it at home and at work. Stripe lent some inspiration here. Instead of creating multiple Stripe accounts, you can create multiple businesses inside of Stripe. Pickle does the same thing. I've created one for planning my wedding, one for the business, one for side projects, a consulting company, etc. This allows each one to be sand boxed. For home, we have information like the plumber's contact info, we've attached receipts, and other correspondences. It's super handy when the sink clogs up again for either of us to know what we spent last time, and have it all in one place. The cool thing, is that using it at work isn't that much different, just different data. Instead of the plumber, landscaper, realtor, family, and friends, you can use it for your clients, prospects, employees, and colleagues. I always thought it was kind of ridiculous that there was software that we couldn't use at home, and home software that we couldn't use at work. These days, we don't have a work phone and a home phone, we just have a smart phone. And that's what pickle is, it's the Smart Address Book.

@rrhoover Oh, and just to add: Pickle has reminders, and they're getting even better and optionally automatic in the next big update :)

👋 Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out Pickle here on Product hunt! When I first set out to build Pickle, I wanted to solve a few problems that were entirely based on my prior work and personal experiences. When I look back at building Sidestep—the live event merchandise platform that allowed Beyoncé's fans to pre-order her merch and skip the line at the show—I realized a few recurring things: 1. Customer support is hard because all the data is scattered in different places. When someone wrote us, it was hard to easily find a history of all our interactions. We had customers buying things in Stripe, addresses, print shops, deliveries, refunds, orders being picked up, receipts requested, etc. 2. It really made it hard to know our customer with this fragmented data. Plus, many times we'd simply miss something because it was somewhere else that we either forgot about or didn't know about. Pickle solves this by allowing you to keep everything in one place about a customer. You can attach files, emails, text messages, stripe upgrades/downgrades/purchases, custom events via the API and via Zapier. Seeing a birds eye view of everything a customer does or experiences made everyone's life better. A couple features to highlight: 1. Projects 2. Integrations & API Pickle focuses on being simple and helping you stay in touch with people. It allows you to use multiple "projects" with only one login. This means you can separate things like your home, work, side projects, clubs, and more. For example: I've been using Pickle to [manage our wedding](http://igotablog.com/planning-a-...) with my Fiance, but also have other projects to organize my work stuff (inspired by how Stripe does this with multiple businesses). Leveraging various integrations and the API allowed me to build a simple open source invitation system on top of Pickle. Inside of Pickle I can see when people upgrade via stripe, send me an email in Gmail, enrich contacts and organizations with Clearbit, and so much more. There's a lot and I could go on and on, but the most important thing is that Pickle is designed to be a smarter address book that's flexible, powerful, and dead simple. I'm happy to answer any questions and thanks for having me!

Hi @iwaffles with so many CRM's to chose from right now, what makes Pickle CRM stand out? What key features should we be checking out?
Matt G.
Hi @ems_hodge! You're totally right, there are a TON of CRMs to chose from. Pickle is: 1. Cheaper, much cheaper when compared to many of the alternatives. 2. Allows multiple projects/businesses with just one login (other CRMs require you to have multiple accounts and pay multiple times if you want to separate this). 3. It's designed to be used at home and work (not for working 24/7, but for using the same tool to better your home and work life). Most people use the same smart phone/computer operating system/email clients/etc at home and at work. You shouldn't have to use a totally different system at home and at work, especially if the system benefits everyone. 4. We have plans to open source more of Pickle. I'm a stickler for privacy and security, and so many of these CRMs hold your data hostage. I believe that's wrong and why we're excited to open source as much as we can in the near future. Stay tuned to this, we have a lot of interesting ideas where we can still host Pickle, but you'll be able house all the data. 5. If you work with clients, you'll love the Timelines feature. It allows you to share a timeline of what's been done, what's up next, status updates, messages, and secure file sharing. Realtors and their clients really like using Pickle Timelines for home buying and selling. Here's an example: http://igotablog.com/how-realtor...
