🛠 Why I built it
While working solo, I needed a better way to track task hierarchy and progress. As a Notion user, I figured — why not build the tool I need myself?

Notion TreeView is a free Chrome extension that visualizes your Notion database in structured tree, XMind, or markdown views. Now at its' v2.0.0 with 50+ users and growing.

Great idea! Notion is fantastic for organizing tasks, but sometimes the hierarchy can get overwhelming. How does TreeView handle nested or complex data structures in Notion databases? Does it handle large databases efficiently, or should we be cautious with very large datasets?

1. How does TreeView handle nested or complex data structures in Notion databases?
→ Currently, TreeView 2.0 only focuses on handling parent/sub-task relationships within a single database, and builds the tree accordingly. I haven't figured a clean and neat way to visualize cross-database or cross-page relations (like obsidian), but it’s definitely within scope for future updates. I’d love to hear any ideas or suggestions you might have.
2. Does it handle large databases efficiently, or should we be cautious with very large datasets?
→ I'd say no need to worry. The image below is one of my task database that has over 199+ tasks nested across 4 layers. The plugin render it correctly (though the minimap becomes a bit compressed due to the size of the tree), I’m currently working on improving that part.

This is such a handy upgrade for Notion users! Notion TreeView makes it way easier to grasp structure and hierarchy at a glance — love the clean visuals and multiple view options. Simple, focused, and super useful.
