NomadMania is the web platform + the app allowing users to: 1) Plan their trips by exploring 60+ travel lists 2) Track travel history in the organized way 3) Create detailed maps of visited countries/places 4) Connect with other travelers (40k+ user by now)
Great to separate the world into regions (vs. countries) that are actually worth seeing. Countries are often too big to make sense to count as "having seen / been", e.g. Colorado is a lot different than NYC, or Moscow vs. the far east of Russia. It's also great for researching a location and goes way beyond the usual lists of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, suggesting interesting museums and other sights or even boat rides. It's also great to keep track of traveler friend and organize trips together
This app has allowed me to meet other people who are as passionate about travel as I am. The app is very informational, allows you to see who are the biggest travelers in the world and learn from them. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to discover the world.
I first heard about this when travelling in America and talking to a group of people who mentioned a travelling community online who track where they go and how far they are from visiting all UN countries. Then beyond that any other territories. You have visited the UK but have you been to Gibraltar, Bermuda, Pitcairn, South Sandwich. There's so much more to the world to explore. More than just ticking off countries and regions of the world (I'm very list based so that gets the dopamine going), it's about meeting like-minded people and getting advice from them too. Being able to ask what a particular border crossing in two remote countries in Africa is like, and having someone who was there 4 months ago reply is incredible. I was fortunate to go on a trip to Syria and Lebanon last year, with one to Nepal and India scheduled for this year - all because I took a step into the unknown and found a place that matched my goals so perfectly. If you enjoy travelling for any reason, this is a great place to start.
I start planning every trip with the help of this site. Lists of the best sights and museums, locations and a good passion in the desire to discover something new
