We built a messaging platform that allows you to practice a language while doing an activity you already do. Messaging your friends and family! 💡 Scientific Approach NAMA immerses your text conversations in the language you are practicing and attempts to seamlessly aid you in practicing a language by giving you translation suggestions, auditory feedback, and reinforcing your learning with spaced repetition. 80% percent of our hundreds of beta users reported that it helped them practice more than other apps in the market! 🌎 Use NAMA anywhere! (Two products in one?) When you install NAMA you will also get access to the NAMA KEYBOARD to use in any iOS app! You’ll be able to track and practice all of the words and phrases you learn in any app in our main application! 🎮 Gamification The more you practice, the more achievements you will unlock! NAMA rewards your effort with badges that you can flex on your friends! There will only be one NAMA Genius Badge !! 🗣 No Native Speaker Required Any two users can practice whatever language they want, and we will ensure that communication works between them and that practicing is effective! @nico_lopez Beta user here! I really enjoyed using this app to talk to my friends and get better at my native language, Marathi! It is extremely useful and has so many unique features that makes it the best language learning app I’ve actually ever used! (And I have used a lot.) Thank you for creating this app! It will truly make a difference in this world when people will be able to communicate with each other with much more ease :)

Wow! Idea is really interesting. Maybe it would be easier to switch to the app if it was connected to WhatsApp, Telegram or any other messenger so that main dialog would be saved there and NAMA will be the upper layer adding language learning functionality. Just an idea :) Anyway, you did the great job and it'll be fascinating for me to watch your progress!

@superbulgakov Thank you so much for your feedback! We actually have a feature similar to what you are describing. The NAMA Keyboard comes with NAMA Chat, and it helps you send messages in the language you are trying to learn in any app! I would love to hear about what you think of this feature!

@superbulgakov Very interesting! Our keyboard is the way that we try to interface with other apps, but I do like the idea of Having NAMA be an additional layer to all your conversations! We will definitely looking into that more! Thanks for the support!

I also liked the translating feature. Which engine do you use? And won’t it be expensive on the bigger scale (like thousands active users per day)?

@superbulgakov Actually, thanks to Jorg, we are running a really good many to many model that runs natively on each device. Making our server costs basically zero! He worked with one of the engineers that developed one of the GPU M2M translation models and made it run on CPU so that we could have it natively. I'll ask him to respond to this question in more detail!

@ducmtran Glad you've enjoyed it! We really want to deliver an experience that is seamless, and at some point in the future make NAMA compelling enough to replace your normal messaging apps. But until we reach that point we are offering the NAMA Keyboard feature! We are getting there though!
