बहुत समय पहले की बात है। एक घने जंगल में एक शेर रहता था। वह जंगल का राजा था और सभी जानवर उससे डरते थे। एक दिन शेर शिकार करने निकला लेकिन उसे कुछ भी नहीं मिला। वह थक गया और एक पेड़ के नीचे आराम करने लगा। उसी समय, वहाँ एक छोटी सी बिल्ली आई। बिल्ली बहुत समझदार थी। उसने देखा कि शेर बहुत परेशान और भूखा है। वह डरते हुए शेर के पास गई और बोली, “हे जंगल के राजा, क्या मैं आपकी कुछ मदद कर सकती हूँ?” शेर ने पहली बार किसी छोटे जानवर को अपनी मदद के लिए आगे आते देखा। वह मुस्कुराया और बोला, “तुम बहुत छोटी हो, तुम मेरी क्या मदद कर सकती हो?” बिल्ली ने कहा, “मैं आपके लिए शिकार ढूँढ़ने में मदद कर सकती हूँ। मेरी सूंघने की शक्ति बहुत तेज़ है।” शेर ने उसकी बात मान ली। बिल्ली इधर-उधर दौड़ी और थोड़ी देर में उसे एक खरगोश की गंध मिली। उसने शेर को इशारा किया और शेर ने तुरंत खरगोश को पकड़ लिया। शेर बहुत खुश हुआ और बोला, “तुम तो बहुत चतुर हो! तुमने मेरी मदद की, इसलिए अब से तुम मेरी दोस्त हो। जंगल में कोई भी तुम्हें नुकसान नहीं पहुँचाएगा।” उस दिन से शेर और बिल्ली अच्छे दोस्त बन गए। शेर ने सीखा कि कभी-कभी छोटे से छोटे प्राणी भी बड़ी मदद कर सकते हैं। शिक्षा (Moral): कभी भी किसी को छोटा या कमज़ोर मत समझो, हर किसी में कुछ न कुछ विशेषता होती ह
