Land Ho! Product Information and Latest Updates (2025)

I am still figuring How to use it? - So basically you are saying in chrome browser instead of typing google and keyword in search bar. You are saying type Landho and keyword in the new search bar. Problems #1. Google has got stuck in my mind, if you wake me up from sleep and hand me laptop I will type google without thinking. #2. I have to right click results to open in new window, why can't I directly click result to open in same window. #3. The new window which is opened is not recorded in Landho History #4. I use refind extension which injects a link recommendation in my google search results page. I will miss it if I use Landho. #5 Is it possible to use google search and landho does only history tracking using blockchain?

@arunkw cool. #1 - Stop waking up from sleep and searching. We always advocate searching while you're wide awake. #2 - a temporary consequence of us being able to show you outside search results. We hope to fix this soon. #3 - We are not recording you clicks, only your searches. If you search, its captured for you to manage as you wish. Keep it, delete it, hug it. Its yours. #4 Hopefully we have an option for you soon, but at the moment, we dont have a way to let your extensions track you. #5 - Yes! But why? Blockchain is only good if you need a global, shared, immutable truth. App chains are certainly possible, and we may go in that direction someday if there would ever be a need.

Great product so far! I will use it daily. My regular workflow is this: I use DDG in Brave, and parallel, having g****.com opened in an incognito window (I know this approach is not perfect, but it was the best I found to mix the usage of DDG and Big G). I have a question regarding the fingerprinting used by the Big G: Land Ho is not a proxy server neither a VPN routing program, for instance, it doesn't mask my IP address. If I use any Big G product (like Youtube or Gmail) directly logged-in from a Brave tab, Big G is registering my IP address and linking it to my Big G account. So, if I open BigG.com search from Land Ho, Big G could understand that it is me. Although Big G might promise that they only registered logged-in user data, it's tentative for them to store data related to a single profile, considering IP address connections, for example. Any hint of how to tackle this?

@unclemimo This is the conundrum, right! I have the same issue. Currently we do not plan to extend into anonymizing proxies or tor or whatever, but there seems to be an appetite for more/better disambiguation from the Suveillance Capitalists, so that is something we will need to consider. As you correctly imply, Land Ho gives you the same level of anonymity (or lack thereof) as Incognito mode.

Basically, when I type these company names in the searchbar, I can see the google results, but as soon as I clicked the desired result, I can see this message with a broken backgound/page " refused to connect". Hope it helps!
