Your IP, your rules.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 Gardo here, Sr. PM for the IP Portal.
I'm thrilled to introduce you to the IP Portal (Beta), our innovative platform that empowers creators by providing a seamless way to protect, license, and monetize their intellectual property (IP) across the internet.
What is the IP Portal? 👀
The IP Portal is a user-friendly platform that allows IP creators to:
Protect their IP by registering it securely
License their IP with customizable terms, enabling others to use their creations legally, without the legal hassle and costs
Monetize their IP through automated licensing agreements, ensuring they receive fair compensation
Why did we build this? 🎯
Creators today have more ways than ever to publish work—but way fewer tools to actually protect it, license it, or get paid for it. And with AI remixing everything in sight, the gaps in today’s IP system are only getting wider.
The IP Portal makes it simple to register your work, define how others can use it, and earn directly—no middlemen, no legal guesswork. It’s built to give creators defensibility and control in an age where both are getting harder to hold onto.
Current Status: Beta Launch 🚀
We're excited to announce that the IP Portal is currently in open beta. This means you can start using it today to register and monetize your IP, as well as dispute infringing IP. However, please note:
We know it’s not perfect—and that’s by design. We launched the beta early so we can build in the open, get feedback fast, and improve with the community. Features like better search, bulk uploads, and smoother UX are already in motion—keep it coming.
Upcoming Features: Our roadmap includes simplifying the registration process, eliminating the need for crypto-specific logins, introducing gas-free transactions, and enhancing user onboarding to make the platform more accessible.
Note: You’ll need IP tokens to use the IP Portal. Simply click to register IP on the homepage and select ‘Get some IP first’ for step-by-step guidance on acquiring IP tokens. (Registration takes <0.1 IP tokens)

@gm_story automated IP protection is a cool vision, but how do you actually enforce fair usage and resolving disputes? I'm not really following the mechanism here.
@gm_story I'm curious to know how story protocol deals with IP right infringement, legally
@gm_story really cool stuff 😎 love it
Hi @rajiv_ayyangar ! That's a great question.
We've approached IP defensibility in a few different ways:
1️⃣ We work with 3rd parties to run infringement checks on all IP Assets that are registered with a commercial licenses attached (i.e., ones you can make money from). If an asset is deemed as infringing, it is flagged and no longer allowed to monetize the infringing work by selling future commercial licenses.
2️⃣ If you find an infringing asset that hasn't been flagged, or is violating your licensing terms, you can use our Dispute Module. Both parties stake capital and submit evidence to our 3rd party arbitration service UMA, who will provide a judgement. Assets deemed infringing are flagged and no longer allowed to sell commercial licenses. The "winner" of the arbitration receives 50% of the other party's staked capital.
3️⃣ And as a last resort, if you need to take further legal action, you're covered by the terms of our Programmable IP License (PIL). PIL terms are attached to every piece of IP registered with us, providing users with legal protections in just a few clicks.
Currently, taking legal action is an IP owner's first course of action. This is time consuming and expensive, so most people never take action unless someone is "stealing from them enough" 😭
We want to provide creators with immediate defensibility, as well as alternatives, so that the courtroom can be their last course of action, not their first.
I actually answered a similar question here on X. If you click on the link you'll see screenshots of our infringement check service and the "Report an asset" screen for the dispute module.
Thanks again for your question and happy to discuss further or give you a demo if you'd like! We have lots of exciting things simmering in the backlog.
Many thanks,
Gardo

Really excited about what you’re building here! IP protection and monetization are huge pain points for creators, and the IP Portal seems to be a great solution. Looking forward to seeing more features as it develops.
@roman_burdyga thanks so much Roman! Looking forward seeing more from Stripo
